Moanalua Volleyball History:
BOYS VOLLEYBALL: Moanalua Volleyball has had a rich tradition of excellence both on the girls and boys volleyball program. In 2012, Head Coach Alan Cabanting took over the boys program and has won 6 straight OIA titles since - most by any team since the 1977-1980 Roosevelt team. 5 of those 6 years, Moanalua has placed 3rd in the Hawaii State Championships. And in 2016, the program finally got over it's 3rd place hurdle and got into the state championship match. They were the state runner up - the first in 15 years for any public school in the state.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: In 2014, Head Coach Alan Cabanting then took over the girls program as well. In the three years he has been with the program, the team has been OIA Champions three years in a row and has tied the most it has had since. Both times they finished 3rd in the state tournament Coach Alan also held the first annual summer camp in 2014. Loyola Marymount University Assistant Coach Aaron Benning was the lead camp instructor and BYU MPSF Libero Jalen Reyes was the other instructor.
